If you’re 15–39, you may have heard the term “AYA,” thrown around, which stands for adolescent and young adult. Early-onset cancer usually means being diagnosed with cancer before age 50. The exact labels aren’t as important as knowing this: having cancer at a younger age is a whole different experience. It can interrupt school, work, relationships, and the plans you’re building for your life.

A registered mental health counseling intern is someone in FL who’s finished their master’s and is earning hours toward full licensure. My license number is IMH21411 and I provide therapy under supervision Brittany Graniero-Rothman, LMHC (MH15501).
I graduated with my MA five years ago and went into research before coming back to counseling full-time.

My session rate is $85 per 50-minute session. I want counseling to be accessible to everyone—please let me know if you’d like to discuss a sliding scale rate.

The first session is one where we’ll talk about you - what your experience has been like and what brought you here, your goals, and what has or hasn’t worked. Feel free to bring up what you think is important for me to know.

This will be different for everyone and depends on your goals. Some clients will work with me for a few sessions to meet a specific goal or get through a specific time that they anticipate will be difficult (such as radiation and surgery). Others may choose to make therapy a regular part of their life since the cancer experience does not end when treatment finishes.

I understand that cancer can lead to unexpected changes. Your first late cancellation (less than 48 hours’ notice) will not incur a fee. After that, any sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to a $25 late cancellation fee, except in cases of emergency or sudden medical need. Missed sessions (no-shows) without any notice may also be subject to the fee.
